D16Y7 Block to D16Z6 Head
So ive been searching google and a few honda sites the past few days
I picked up this site http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm
Im interested in compression
Currently the block is assembled with eagle rods / viata pistons, stock bore
the head is also stock with just a zex cam
I put all the info into the calculator and got to 8-1 compression
Will that be an issue?
If i use a D16Y8 head gasket 2 layer it will bump it up to just over 9 to 1.
Is the D15y8 headgaset a normal 2 layer HG? Ive also seen it stated as a 3 layer just like the z6 head gasket on the internet.
Just looking on input about compression and which head gasket to use.

8.1 ...do you know what size vitara said those pistons were?
8.1 wil suk and a lower comp will throw off the ecu if its a stock ecu
thinner headgasket wont bump compression like you thnk

See what happen is that the vitara pistons we used them if you r planning to install a turbo charger cuz the comp is 9 to 1 is very low but if you r not planning to get a turbo and you want some nice pistons get hi comp pistons or go back to the factory one's...

well if he put vitara pistons in there, then im sure hes going turbo. Just get a D16Y8 FEL-PRO head gasket. it will be fine.

use that. you dont have 8.0CR. its more like 7.56. I have the same setup but STD bore Vitara's. I have 7.49CR. it runs fine and its great under boost. I run a D16Y8 FEL-PRO head gasket with ARP Studs.
Also i just noticed, in the first post you say stock bore. Then in the next post you say 75.5. Stock bore is 75mm.
