D16Y5 missfire at highway speeds
Hey guys, first post on here, but I'm a pretty active member on Nasioc Subaru forums. This post is regarding my DD, 1997 Civic HX (236,xxx miles).
Alright, so I've been having some trouble with a missfire while at constant highway speeds. I have gotten an occacional CEL for bad EGR. About a year ago, the EGR and PCV were both replaced, then the car wasn't driven much. When the PCV was replaced, it was extremely tough to remove, lots of black crap everywhere. Fast forward to this spring, I started driving the car regularly again, and it drove pretty good for a week or two before the hesitation returned and a periodic CEL for EGR. I assumed all the EGR was fouled again by all the leftover residue. EGR replaced again, and after a couple hundred miles, I still have hesitation and just threw a CEL again yesterday (I'll pull the code today after work).
What's my next move here? I assume I need to get the ventilation coming into the EGR cleaned good. Is that a good assumption? How do I go about doing so safely?
Thanks in advance guys!

Re: D16Y5 missfire at highway speeds
^^I have not, but that's probably the info I need. Is there a detailed "how-to" for the process? Is there an easier way than having to pull apart everything?
