D16A1 in a 97 EX?
About 8 months ago I blew the motor in my 97' Civic EX and was getting ready to go to Basic Training so I didn't bother with it. While I was away my mother had a mechanic put an engine in the car for me. Nice of her I know.
Anywho I got back and the car felt good and was running very very strong. I looked at the engine and noticed that it says D16A1. I have no knowledge of this motor, I did a search and didn't come up with very much.
Should I beat the mechanic?
Basically I'm looking for specs and what not. I have yet to be outrun by a Honda that isn't forced induction so no complaints as far as that goes.
What about the tranny that was hooked up to the D16Y8? Would there be any problems with it being on a D16A1? Yeah D-series interchangeable but could there be any type of problems?
Thanks
Just in case anyone is curious; Mods:
CAI/Header
2.25" Exhaust
7.5lb Flywheel
Stage 2 clutch
Short Shifter
