Default D15z8 distributor

Hi i bought a del sol about a year with a d15z8 swapped into. Unfortunately whoever did the swap mangled some of the wiring up (remote start). I've noticed that one of the wires on the distributor and some leading into the ecu were spliced. Recently I've been having an intermittent problem where my car will big really low sometimes down to 200 rpm and then move back up to idle but when this happens it starts to misfire. I've tried a d16z6 distributor and it was too big to fit into place. I was wondering if anyone has ever done this swap and what distributor would work for it?.

According to Wikipedia, the D15Z8 is a vtec-e motor for Europe:

D15Z8[edit]
VTEC-E
Found in: 1997–2000 Honda Civic LS (European) and in Aerodeck

Maybe the USDM D15Z1 will work for you, however that would be OBD1. Your car might be OBD2 European now. If that's the case then maybe the D16Y5 distributor will work, it's the OBD2 vtec-e from the 96-00 USDM cars.

You really can't mix VTEC-E parts with regular ones. If you don't have the full (what was called in the USA) HX setup around your VTEC-E engine, it will never run right.
