d15b7 + Jrsc..questions.
So I picked up a 92dx, and traded my old EF for a JRSC for a D-series, plus some cash on top. I was wondering if the JRSC would bolt straight on to my d15b7, and if i would need anything else and or tuning done to my car? I'm not expecting to make great HP, but just something with a little more pep for my Daily Driver, since the JRSC was basically free (my old EF was trash, trust me) I wanted to use it on my daily hatch. to those who have done it, or seen it done, how much power did they make over stock?

Yeah it should fit but I suggest to invest in another head to give it better breathing room such as a z6/y8 or any d-series VTEC head. I believe the JRSC was designed for those.

my single cam knowledge isnt to sharp...but i can tell you like 5 years ago i had a single cam vtec s/c hatch and i loved it...

yea, i thought about sourcing a head, but i figured costs would start building up, because of high compression that the mini me produces. i was thinking if i should start off on whatevers in there since i already have the parts, and see how i'll like it, before i start spending $$..i guess my biggest issue would be, would i need tuning?

I went to JRSC's website, and apparently the SOHC JRSC will fit any D-series, also is listed the d15b7, with a dynograph. So roughly theirs dyno'd at 142 124tq. not that bad, should be a hell of a lot better than stock..it doesnt say anything about tuning, but would i need it? also would i also need to switch to 91 octane?

you should always get forced induction tuned. yes, you'd need to switch to at least 91 if not 93.

Go to JRSC's website. 1995 Honda Civic EX...99.9 ft/lbs of torque. Must have been the DX motor or suttin.

I thought the d16z6's claimed 125 hp and the d16y8's claimed 127 hp was to the crank. The 105 hp measured was to the wheels. If so, that sounds about right to me.
