D15b7 swap to D16Y8
How hard and what needs to be done to make this work. I have a 92 EG that i would like to put a 99' Civic EX D16Y8 motor, that motor is supercharged, has headers and intake already. Any input would be appreciated.

thats a pretty motor i love those valve covers anyways that motor should bolt right in to the existing mounts, someone should confirm that though.. im pretty sure it will bolt right in though. Are you getting the tranny with it as well? keeping the dx tranny you got with the d15 might be kinda slowish

This should be a somewhat bolt in job. The motor will be ok, but your wiring will be a pain. you can use the whole y8 harness, add the other 02 sensor, and run it as a OBD-II car, or chip a P28 ECU and keep it obd-I.

You will have to either chip the ECU yourself (there are some threads on here about chipping a P28), or send it to someone to do so.
I would definetly stick with the P28 though, as it allows a much broader range of tuning than the Y8 P2P ECU.
Thought just popped up... will he need an OBDII --> OBDI conversion harness to adapt the Y8 wiring to the P28 ECU, despite having the ECU chipped?

j00 should now do a auto to manual conversion. This changes everything.
