D15b /w Z6 head.. power?
Girlfriend just bought a matching del sol equiped with a d15b. could i take the head off my old z6 and swap it on for some nice gains? Would it put down more than 125 flywheel? Or would be better off just swapping the hole damn thing?
Would be an easy upgrade, 600-700 higher rpm revs and some nice top end for the little motor, but would it make more than a z6 stock?
Just a little curious. I know most big ls/vtec hybrids have a higher displacement ls bottem than the vtec head but how does it work on a block with lower displacement?
Someone who has been there done that, or just has the knowdledge, please enlighten me.
thanks

it should make more than 125 whp, i've seen people increase their power by 25-30 whp by doing that swap and a few bolt ons , hope this helps, and make sure u do it right

Will be done right. Have a few buddys that have been in the game a lot longer than me.
125whp? 125 is flywheel for a z6. it makes roughly 113whp in stock trim.
Since i cant find someone who chips automatic ecu's, wont be able to bring much power out of her car. Was going to mini it and a hole slew of aftermarket bolt ons. Think i'll shoot for 150whp on her car, unless of course can find someone to chip automatic ecus. Then 310cc's and a JRSC sounds fun to me.
Can anyone confirm and/or provide more info on a b7/z6 ls vtec? just looking for a good power est.

ls/vtec is b18b integra ls motor mated to a dohc vtec head such as b16, b18 head there is not such thing as b7/z6 ls vtec ( i might have understood it wrong), you can swap ls motor in it and throw a b16 head on there, but that automatic transmission is keeping you from making good power man

well you know what i mean. Its similar.
Its my girlfriends car. My del sol is manuel. She Cannot and willnot learn to drive a 5 speed.
Im trying to make 140-150whp, close to a stock sir-ii b16. if a z6 head on the b7 block makes good power + some cheap bolt ons, was hoping to make some impressive numbers without resorting to a swap. car must remain automatic too.
anyways, getting off the point. how much power est. would i make with a b7 block and z6 head? big thing is, will it be more than a stock z6 engine?

Re: (ella94)
well when you put z6 head on a b7 block, you raise your compression i think it's like 10.1 or something which is higher than a stock z6 compression which SHOULD result in the engine makin power than the stock z6 engine, if you can tune it or find somebody that tunes automatic ecu that should get you some power too
