Default D15B problems

So I finally got my swap all done and I've run into a weird problem. If I give it gas, it revs all the way, no problem. It doesn't bog, buck or hesitate at all. The problem is when I give it about the amount of throttle you would when trying to maintain a speed, it limits at 1500 rpm.

I'm only throwing code 14 (Idle Air Control Valve) but I'm not sure if that would cause this... I don't have a rev limit set on my chip. I haven't been able to drive it yet because I still need to bleed my clutch, but I doubt that would cause the limit...

For the plug that goes to the IAC, what color are the wires? I may have simply plugged the wrong thing up to it...

BLU/YEL and YEL/BLK are the colors on it.

I doubt you plugged it in wrong, because if you did you'd more than likely be throwing two codes.

not having your iacv hooked up will cause you multiple problems im not sure of the colors by heart but check to see if u have a round two wire clip hanging unplugged behind and under your intake.

Troubleshoot this issue, once you have the code resolved we will see if the problem is still present then go from there.

Well I have something plugged into the iacv, just not sure if it's the right thing. I'll check those colors tomorrow. I just realized that I didn't put the connector on the pins to activate the pin, so I'm just running a stock p28 ecu. Would that cause the rev limit at 1500?

Check the plugs from the iat(intake air temp) and iacv to make sure you didn't mix them up. Running a p28 ecu without vtec and vtec oil hooked up might make the ecu run in limp mode try reseting the ecu and dont rev to vtec just normal driving low rpm

hope this helps good luck

Running a P28 on this will be fine. Run through the troubleshooting I posted and we will go from there.

Ok, got the IACV figured out... had the wrong plug on it... ha.

Now I have a bigger problem. I tried to take it for a drive, but when let the clutch completely out, the car just dies. It acts like I'm not giving it any gas, just letting the clutch out.

Tomorrow, I'm planning on doing a compression test, putting in new plugs, testing wires and bleeding the clutch even more. The timing is dead on. I checked it after trying to drive it. It idles fine, revs all the way without hesitation, the limiter at 1500 seems to be gone but I'll triple check that tomorrow as well.

Any ideas on this?

Something I just thought of was that when we were putting the tranny back in, the pin that goes from the slave cylinder to the clutch fork fell out and the fork was moving around. Would it be possible for it to have come out of the throw out bearing just enough to make it act like the clutch isn't fully disengaging? If so, is it possible to just take that rubber boot that covers the clutch fork hole in the tranny off and push it back in or would I have to take the tranny back off to reseat it in the bearing?

When I bought my d15b from hmotors it didn't come with the vtec oil pressure sensor right below the vtec solenoid I had to add it, there was just a bolt plugging it

did you add this sensor?

So I got it all figured out. The chip I got from Xenocron was junk. Took it out, ran the stock p28 and it was just fine... And then I found out the damn head gasket is blown on it.... Just got it from H-Motors, was told it has 43k on it and the head gasket is blown... You guys think they'll cover it somehow? I'm gonna call them tomorrow about it...
