Default D15B in the phillipines. I need some help

Guys, i have a 1993 Honda Civic Hatchback with D15B mounted on it. before i place a turbo for that engine and the piston melted so i want the ALL - MOTOR setup. i need to rebore the block because it was damaged so i bought a OEM Honda piston (i dont know what it is called but it's size is 75.2 or .3 mm and it's dome type). we ported the head, lightened valves, we upgrade tranny, ACT clutch and pressure plate and etc. it runs ok like for 8 months and now the splitfire sparckplug's ground went to the bore because when i checked my sparkplug, one sparkplug have a melted ground. and the piston melted and has cracks on the side. want piston do you guys preffer?? is there a 76mm? what engine's piston?? tnx!

First of all I need some clarification on some things,

Your saying that the previous engine melted a piston with a turbo, and after the rebuild the same piston melted again?

Stock pistons should work fine if your only boosting a few lbs
Youd be suprised how strong stock internals are
If its All Motor You could raise the compression a bit since there's high octane gas there
Sounds like your car is Detonating What should matter most is "Tuning" "Pagtotono"
Or Just take your Car to H3 Autoworks

How did your spark plug's ground go to the bore? what are you talking about?

The ground for your sparkplug is the outer casing of the sparkplug and is grounded to the engine when it is threaded into the cylinder head.

well you say your pistons have a dome to them so what is your compression ratio at? maybe its a bit high and your having some serious detontion problems that would definatley describe the plugs and burning holes in pistons. have u tried backing the timing off?

Yea they got some Goodshit back home
A friend of mine is running a stroked B16 with a 13 compression
thats possible cuz they offer 100+ octane fuel at every gas station
This is a 13 second full interior 4door daily driven street car
Sorry for the O.T.
I think you need more tuning on your hatch

what are you using for tuning?

It sounds like it's detonating badly.
If you are running really high compression,
it will be similar to a turbo setup.

Where you need(actually MUST) run enough fluel to keep your air/fuel ratio good.

just retarding the timing is NOT going to do the job, all that will do is hurt your power.

If your piston melted again, the i guess you need another rebuild.
Try some forged pistons this time,
and get some bigger fuel injectors, and something to control them. like an apexi VAFC

(best would be hondata though).

Horrayy kabayan!

Well sounds like a bad tuning and detonation. How much boost is in there? If you bought OEM pistons for PDM civic LX or Hatchback PH12, it has a dome and this results to a high compression ratio. This combo is not very good when your boosted unless yuo use very high octane gas. Shell Velocity and Petron Blaze has 98 octane. Dont go for cheap unleaded gas since its only 93ROC.

Well looks like you are going to be rebuilding that, or I suggest you buy another motor @ evangelista in Makati. I bought my JDM D15B vtec for only 19,000 Pesos (around 333.00 USD) and it came with the tranny, axls, PS pump and AC compressor, Harness and everything needed for a swap, except for the fuel pump.
Then you can start with that, then boost it.

BTW what turbo set up do you have?

temporarily i guess u could pinch the return line and bump your pressure that way just to see if it helps with the detonation. if it does than u know its a fuel issue and not timing. from your post its not turbo'd yet but your planning to right?

haha! never knew about that trick.

kinda nifty.
as i think an fmu does prettymuch the same thing.
(but based on boost)
