i need to replace the headgasket on my wifes d15b, at the same time im building a d16z6 for a friend. im going to honda friday to order a few parts. ill be ordering two headgaskets each for a d16y8 because i heard they fit and they are better quality and will slightly bump compression. also ill be ordering two sets of headbolts for a d16z6. i just want to be 100% sure these parts will work.

If its an OBD1 D15B Vtec then yes you want Z6 headbolts. If its a non vtec version you want D15B7 headbolts. Btw if you can afford them ARP headstuds are better and have the added benefit of being reusable.

The Y8 headgaskets are 3 layer steel btw and wont rot like the graphite ones do.

thanks for the reply, i was hoping you would comment on this mister bacon tendercrisp. yes its the obd1 vtec version its blowing exhaust through the coolant system and not losing any coolant. hopefully this also solves the no heat issue. im sure it will cause the heat was fine before the headgasket started leaking.
im just using oem headbolts because this car is being traded as soon as i get it fixed for something with 3rd row seats...probably a durango...my wife will be having our third child in april so she needs something bigger.

by the way...does anyone know where i can find a descent quality digital bore gauge for a fair price?
