D15 Tranny mounted to D16 block
I know this question is typical question for a noob but I'm going to ask it anyway.
I have a 97 D16 motor and I was wondering if i can mount a D15 tranny to it. I'm trying to save some money and not have to get another Tranny. thanks

Any 1988-2000 D series tranny will bolt to any 1988-2000 D series engine.
BUT!!!
88-91 trannies are cable actuated clutches, while the 92-00 had hydraulically activated clutches which means you don't want to to interchange them if possible.
What year is the D15 tranny?

'88 Civic clutches are different, possibly '89 as well, but '90 - '91 cable clutches are the same as '92 - '00 Clutches except for the throwout bearing. Actually '90 - '05 Civics all use the same clutch, I know '06 - '10 use the same sized input shaft so the disc should be same, but i'm not sure if the flywheel and pressure plate are the same.
