Default d15 tranny from 92 civ cx to 94 civ d16z6 motor

Ok, here's a tuffy,

I have a 94 civ ex, it's a d16z6 vtec w/ a 5 spd and i've been having problems with my tranny. The tranny seems to hum, as in it makes this wierd as noise when i'm driving. It's obviously the differential thats fucked, but don't you think thats kinda odd for a 94 civ with only 70k miles?, anyway... what i really need help with is this one. My friend just got a full complete GSR swap done to his 92 civ cx bubble, and he's selling his old motor with tranny and the whole kit. He said that he'll sell me the tranny if i need it, but i need to know if that tranny will bolt on to my motor. I need some opinions to whether or not it's worth it?, also i would like to find out the differences in my tranny versus his?, gear ratios, clutch, bearings .... the perk about it is that both have hydraulic clutches.

Help me out plz.... Thanx, MiKe B

yeah the CX transmission is the longest, slowest piece of **** that honda has ever created (next to the HF transmission, but lets not go there) it will bolt up, but i dont suggest using it unless you are only using ur car as a daily driver...if you are interested in any type of performance...stay away from it

will u see a difference in performance? i have a CX tranny right now and an EX tranny (shaft is broken, but everything works fine) i was going to swap out my cx gears and change it with the EX, but before i swap it out i want to know if it is worth the time? Will i see a differences in 1/4 times? Will i be able to make my tires spin threw 1st and 2nd hahha (cant do it with a CX)?

yes it will...the EX tranny is a lot better and you will see a noticable difference in acceleration...apparently bolting an EX transmission onto a DX will lower quarter mile times by half a second...so i'm assuming that it will do the same with a CX
