d15 header PLEASE HELP!!
I have a d15z1, VX engine, and i'm looking for a header. Will all D-series headers fit the block? If not could you direct me somewhere to find one that will fit? I'm swapping it out soon but for the time being I want to run a little better until I have the cash for the swap.

Re: d15 header PLEASE HELP!! (BauleyCivic)
I beg to differ.
I noticed a different when i put header on my old d15. I mean it had 70 hp but hey every hp helps when you don't have any.
It still wasn't fast but less throttle was needed to get going.

Re: d15 header PLEASE HELP!! (CivicVX94)
there is some good info on SOHC headers at this site http://www.hadamotorsport.com/....html
if you search around you can usually find guys getting rid of sohc headers for under $100 and yes any sohc header should fit your motor...good luck

No! The VX is a **** motor. It has a **** head, with a **** transmission. Any bolt ons are going to be pointless. If he wants to get rid of the tranny and then add the header then maybe, but otherwise its useless. Why blow $350 on a motor that you're getting rid of anyway?

Re: (Tad)
yep defently you can get a engine swapped or do a mini me for a price of some headers. **** I much rather have 50hp for $500 then 2-3 for $150 if you are lucky.

Re: d15 header PLEASE HELP!! (mooseknuckle)
yeah but if i get a header for my engine now and then get a new engine, cause they are both d-series, it will move over to my new engine, so either way i'm spending the money for the exact same header it's only matter of when. where can i get d16z6 anyways? i've looked all over and haven't been over to find one place selling them. but thanks a lot for all of your help

Re: d15 header PLEASE HELP!! (CivicVX94)
you can get a jdm d15b vtec of hmotors online,
very similar to a d16z6, better rod/stroke ratio, slightly higher compression, a couple more horeses..
they're like 490 or so before shipping..
it'd probly end up around 700 once you get a tranny and ecu,
kind of on the expensive side,
but hmotorsonline swaps are SOOOOOooooo clean, low miles, good stuff.
or check you're local classified ads,
around here we have craigslist.org its just classified ads galore and its free so theres plenty of stuff on there. you can get d15bvtec for 300bux on there right now.
but thats around here,
try thepartstrader.com you might be able to find something close, I think that is a nationwide site.

dont spend money on that motor, you wont notice anything... and you still will be below 100 HP lol..
just save for a swap, or do a Mini ME swap.
if you doing mini swap buy the headers.
if not, dont buy it.....

Re: d15 header PLEASE HELP!! (Tad)
i was looking into the jdm d15 but i want to go turbo and d15's don't have much of a variety out there, nothing that i've found other that TSI, but thanks for your help i'm going to look into those sites your suggested.
My long terms plans are to do a swap to a d16z6, the header will also fit that engine, and in 6 months, or so, go turbo.
I've heard a few times to do a mini swap but the engine i have is already v-tec so what's up with that? will i notice better performance with a new head? or is it just to make it vtec?
