D15 Gurus Answer plz
So my friend has this d15 in his 96 Civic which is most likely been swapped and we are trying to figure out if its U.S. or JP. Can you tell if it's U.S. or JP? Thanks in advance.

non-JDM engine codes always start with the block type example K20, D15, D16, and end with a head designator, such as A2, B8, A6, to make the following engines, K20A2, D15B8, D16A6, JDM engines use generations, but are not clearly defined on my block, usually parts identification will give it away, like cable or hydraulic clutches, head castings, part numbers, etc. for example:
B16a SiR-I uses PR3 parts, and a cable clutch, and the word DOHC on the valve cover is bigger than the word VTEC.
B16a SiR-II uses mostly P30 parts hydraulic clutch, and the word VTEC is bigger than the word DOHC on the valve cover.
B18C engines are most noticed by the dual stage underside intake, and by the words Honda Motor Co. on the other side of the valve cover, as opposed to the word Honda on the B16's.
Honda has all kinds of giveaways on thier motors just gotta know what they are, if you got pics that would give us a shot at identifying it for you.
