Default D series tranny question

Is there an LSD & a lower geared final drive available for this tranny? I'm gonna be installing a clutch & F/W in the spring & I thought about doing these mods also while I had the tranny out. Thanks.

Yes and yes.

SRR makes 4.7 and a 4.9 final drives, and Quaife makes helical limited-slip differential.

There are other brands of LSDs out there, but I would highly recommend the Quaife ATB.

Quaife ATBs for D-series are $995 brand new (prices have risen $100 since last year). They can be found for less by shopping around. I have seen them new for $925.

SRR final drives are $480 for the 4.7 and $530 for the 4.9.

BTW HYREV2NR, what transmission do you have?

I'd call them up and ask first.

Last time I checked Quaife's prices (which was early summer 2003), both of their D-series differentials were listed at $895. Now they are listed at $995.

What about the JDM D15B LSD tranny? I know its not as good as the quaife but how is it? They are only 500 and have the short Z6 gears with a factory LSD...what have you heard about them targa?

I don't know anything about them. I don't even know if they're a helical diff.

OEM Honda diffs aren't as strong as a Quaife ATB anyway, and the Quaife has a lifetime warranty no matter what you do with your car.
