D-series tranny q's
two questions, if you don't know please do not answer, don't feel like popping open 3x cases just to finout it doesn't fit...
can I swap the 2-5 gears from ZC onto my VTi tranny (same as 92-5 si/EX)
and/or
use the 4.437FDR from the JDM ZXi Teg (d-series tranny) (which uses half shaft) but I don't want to use the whole diff just he FD, so that I can reuse my LSD...

Re: D-series tranny q's (AntGonch)
ZC and JDM ZXi L4 trannys uses half shafts as well as 92-5 ZC trannies as well....
the only thing, is that my 1.5l has no provisions for half-shaft installation, otherwise I wouldn't care....

no on the FD swap, L3 shafts are different lengths (1-2 mm shorter)
also second second gear is machined into the mainshaft.
You can use the ZC 3rd with the narrower bearing. To use the ZC 4th it will need to be machined to clear synchro hub. 5th is a straight swap, but really kinda high reving is you do alot of open road driving.
zc 5th about = Si 4th
I suggest a CRX DX/Si 5th gear of .771 as best choice.

to swap the FD you'd have to swap the countershaftv also, but it is too short to be used.
Only one choice if you want a higher FD, Houseman Autosports, a Canadian also.
