d series oil pan?

are all d series oil pans the same?

No, there not all the same. Some of them are shaped differently, which by cause problems depending on the oil pick up. And the 00 d series pan has a different bolt pattern then the older d series pans.

This is true. I had to tap my stock oil pan instead of the already tapped y7 oil pan that came with my turbo kit. It was off by two bolts about a quarter inch for each one.

Also 95 and below are steel. 96 and up aluminum I think.
