d series head swap problems...help fast
okay, we changed out the water pump, and then the car started overheating.
we then decided to take the whole head off and see if the head gasket was
bad or what.
the head gasket looked okay, but it wasn't all that. we noticed that there were
little holes in the head under the head gasket. so where the head gasket goes, it
wasn't all smooth under there because of the holes. the holes were kinda deep too.
then we figured we should just get another head and put it on. we came across
a 89 crx si head that we could have, so we decided what the hell, we'll put that
on.
okay, we cleaned up the head, scraping off the head gasket from the crx si head,
and put it on the d15b7 block. after everything was all connected and wired up,
we tried to start the car and it didn't want to start. we set it at top dead center
and set the cam gear at its correct spot, the car still didn't want start. it
sounds like it wants to start, but it won't turn over.
are we supposed to set the cam gear a different way because of the 89 crx si
cam not being like the 88 crx si cam (the one i have)?
any suggestions on what could be wrong here?
