Re: CX side molding (chirp2hrd)
I hate the side moldings.
Hence i have a cx.
Don't park so close to other people if you don't want door ding. Or go park further out in the parking lot.
Double sided tape will work i guess.
Why don't just drill the holes in and file them to a square shape so the molding will fit like stock.
I did that to get the ek skirts on my hatch.

Someone either added them or it was sold in Canada to begin with.

Re: CX side molding (B18C5-EH2)
wth, are you guys telling me that the 92-00 hatchbacks cx's don't have holes cut for the side mouldings? so if I were to take my cx mouldings off I would have no holes?

Re: CX side molding (Eg_Egg)
92-95 CX has no holes under the mouldings if it's a USDM model. Meaning all 92-95 Cx and Vx hatches sold in the U.S came with no side moldings or holes.
Need proof?

This is very strange.
I own a 93 cx hatch and I have side moldings ..
And I know the previous owner did not have them put on as she wouldnt know that much about cars ..

A lady doesn't need to know anything about cars to purchase a dealer-added option such as side moldings. Trust me, they were not from the factory, but dealers probably added them and charged shitloads for them marking them as "dent protectors" or some lame ****.

Let me put it to you this way, I KNOW for a fact she didnt have them put on. lol.

The dealership could have added them with no need for anyone's permission before they even hit the lots during a tech's P.D.I on the car.
They did this a lot with A/C on Civics, so many people think that A/C was standard when it in fact is not.

Re: CX side molding (B18C5-EH2)
Strange.
Would it make a difference if my car was manufactured in Canada perhaps?
Anyways, I guess that is a possibility. My car doesnt have A/C though. Kinda wish it did lol.
EDIT: Yeah it was manufactured in Canada. That must be it .

Re: CX side molding (B18C5-EH2)
I am sure B18C5-EH2 is 100% right. 92-95 usdm Cx did NOT come with factory moldings. My 94 cx does not have moldings either.
As far as installing them onto a cx, i would use the double sided tape as well. I think i saw the moldings on ebay for $140-$160.

No.
Every 1992-1993 Civic hatch, regardless of whether it was sold in the U.S or Canada, was manufactured in CANADA.

Interesting.
I did not know that. Thank you for the pearl of wisdom
Well, regardless, it has the side moldings so maybe as you said, the dealership put them on.

I'm sure it was, but all I knew for certain was that 92-93 was. If all 94-95 were too, then cool.
I thought some 94-95 were made in America, but I could be wrong...
Coupes were made in America though.
