Default CX/DX eg owners: how is driving w/o p/s?

I'm gonna get a DX and the car isn't driveable, I'm concerned that it'll be hard to drive it when it's fixed since it doesn't have P/s.

EDIT: people taht have bought from hmotorsonline esp in midwest/east coast/ da dirty souf how much has shipping been for ur engine. In particular a d15b longblock.

can you curl 8lbs?

if not.. than it might be a little difficult - but if you have a 6yr old sister.. she could steer while you shift..

hmmm curl 8lbs? I'm pretty sure I can, I'm pretty weak for a fat guy. I guess I'll have to start working out. At least I'll have PopEye forarms.

We'll see hopefully it's not to bad. I've never driven a nonPS car, I have a DA right now.

You get used to it. I have a 97 DX coupe with manual steering. It isnt as bad as you think, besides, when you drive a car with power steering it feels weird.

yea i had the same debate when i was about to get a cx.

just listen to all the people here, you dont need it. i got used to it very quickly.

it also gives you a better control of the car and since a civic is less than 3000lbs you really dont need it.

Hatchbacks are nothing. Try driving a Continental or Chewy 1500 without power steering.

if it was a huge PITA,honda would have never sold it without the P/S.it has to be driveable by practically anybody,so i'm pretty sure you can handle it.i don't think any manufacturer would sell a car that any potential buyer couldn't drive.believe it or not, this car was actually designed to sell to a large variety of buyers-not just punk *** 17 year old ricers.
adding wider tires does make steering while sitting still a little heavier, but i'm sure your six year old sister could still handle it.

I just drove my buddies cx with no powersteering while I have it in my car. It's not that bad if you're rolling. But from a stand still trying to turn the wheel it becomes a little more difficult.

like i said, they didn't build this car to discriminate,so i'm sure practically ANYBODY can handle it.

Its fine. You'll probably actually -Over- steer your PS car after driving the Non ps one.

Driving my DX is alot better then driving both of my parents cars with powersteering.
It takes a little more effort when the car isnt moving but you'll get used to it within 5 minutes of driving the car
