CX or DX?
Alright.... I already feel retarded for asking this.... but whats the difference between a CX and a DX EG civic? I've just been looking at insurance quotes and I'm wondering if the difference would be worth it.

you should spend some time searching, but i'll help out alittle.
off the top of my head, cx is base.
no radio
no power anything
weakest of the honda engines.
dx, is almost the same, but it has radio and power steering. that;s all i can think of.

In my experience (a DX owner, EH), I kinda don't have power steering

my friends eg cx has a/c, but a weak a$$ motor. got beat by my dad's 94 toyota pickup (4 cyclinder). and the motors are different, a dx picks up a lot faster than a cx motor.

A radio, cassetter player, CD player, CD tuner and/or equalizer and tweeter kit are all optional in both the CX and DX hatches.
In fact, ALL of the options (electrical, exterior and interior) are the same for both the CX and DX hatches. At least the EPC says so.
You're right about the power steering though. It's listed as a standard part for the USDM DX hatch but not for the USDM CX hatch.
The A/C is also listed in standard parts for both the 5G CX and DX hatches. I know that at least for the 6th gen, all models that didn't necessarily come factory with A/C had it offered as an option.

The EPC says the USDM '94 DX hatch didn't come with a factory moonroof.

WHAT!!!
There is too much incorrect information going around.
92-95
DX
2178 lbs
Mileage (City / Hwy) 29/36
Fuel Capacity 11.9
Displacement : 1493 cm3
Bore and Stroke : 75 mm X 84.5 mm
Compression : 9.2:1
Power : 102 hp @ 5900 rpm & 98 ft·lbf @ 5000 rpm
Valvetrain : SOHC (4 valves per cylinder)
Fuel Control : OBD-1 MPFI
1st-----3.250
2nd-----1.762
3rd-----1.172
4th-----0.909
5th-----0.702
Final Drive---4.058
Include rear wiper and side molding. A/C standard
CX
2108 lbs Mileage (City / Hwy) 42/46
Fuel Capacity 10.0
Displacement : 1493 cm3
Bore and Stroke : 75 mm X 84.5 mm
Compression : 9.1:1
Power : 70 hp @ 4500 rpm & 83 ft·lbf @ 3000 rpm
Valvetrain : SOHC (2 valves per cylinder)
Fuel Control : OBD-1 MPFI
1st-----3.250
2nd-----1.761
3rd-----1.066
4th-----0.853
5th-----0.702
Final Drive---3.250
No rear wiper and side molding. A/C was optional on CX
No powersteering was availabe for the DX/CX hatchback model. Automatic was available on the DX.
I think only in 1992. The CX came only with driver side mirror. Passanger was optional.
In 92-93 passanger airbag was not available till 94-95 models. Glove box compartment was re-design for passanger SRS. 92-93 front side bumper vent were left unpainted including the rear lower section on the rear bumper. Not everone notice this. But the cap cover for the front seat belt on the B-pillar was also resigned.
96-00
DX/CX
Both get the same MPG (City / Hwy) 29/36. Look like starting 97 MPG now is Mileage (City / Hwy) 28/35
Fuel Capcity is 11.9
DX 2388 lbs
CX 2359 lbs
Both have the same engine. However it still remain non-vtec.
Displacement : 1593 cm3
Bore and Stroke : 75 mm X 90 mm
Compression : 9.4:1
Power : 106 hp @ 6200 rpm
Torque (ft·lb@rpm): 103 (141 N·m) @ 4,600 rpm
Valvetrain : SOHC
Fuel Control : OBD-2 MPFI
Head Code : P2F
Gear ratio i have no info.
The spoiler are both different. Easiest way to recoginzed is DX is paint and CX is not. I seen CX with different year from 96-00 have side molding. DX only have rear wiper. Both model came with powersteering.
There are some other stuff i left out.

Correct.
DX = rear wiper
CX = no rear wiper.
Also DX have Intermitted wiper for the front. While the CX only get slow and fast.
