Default CX cat on header.. what about aftermarket headers?

hey .. so say my cx stock motor header has a cat on it.. not like other cars where its header , header goes all the way under car right by the shif link thing to cat .. mines right on the header..
so im going to be swaping heads..
d15b7 with a jdm d15b sohc vtec head..
im planning on getting aftermarket headers.. if i do this.. can i just put a catco hiflo cat converter right after the aftermarket header?
also will this pass smog?

dont buy a cat. Just when it comes time to smog, throw the stock header with the cat back on. Dont waste your money
