Default CTR transmisson

Does anyone have any good info on the CTR transmission? How is it different from the ITR? I'm gonna be building up a b16 block soon and need a tranny for it.

Any info at all would be helpful.

the ctr trans mimicks the 99 SI trans, or vis a versa......only changes are that the R trans has better synchros and LSD. same gear ratios and final drive of 4.4.

Alright, thanks for the input, I think I'll be getting an Si tranny and replacing the synchros and putting in an A/M LSD. I think it'll be stronger that way.

is replacing the synchros a do it yourselfer or a mechanics job? and how much does it cost, last time i think i recall reading that replacing them costs as much as getting a used tranny.

I don't think I'll do any of the tranny work. I'd love to try it myself, but it seems like it would be quite a headache. Whats the harm in trying though, worst that can happen is I take it to a tranny shop anyway?
