I was just wonderin...if you're goin for a daily driven engine but will have great results once you go to the quarter mile, which engine would be the best thing for the buck...the B20 bottom/V-tec head or the infamous LS/V-tec???

LS = B18a or B18b, commonly named 'LS' because they came from the Integra LS (although were also in all Integras other than GSR/Type R).
LSs do not have vtec stock. Adding a vtec head to an LS bottom end (and performing a few other mods to make it work right) is typically called an 'LS/Vtec.' Similarly, a B20/Vtec (also called the CRVtec) is the same idea, but starting with the B20 bottom end from the 96-01 CRV.
The more you know....

i wouldn't suggest making any more plans for that car other than to maintain it. you would spend less money buying a 92-95 civic and doing a mild build on the single cam that it comes with and it would still be faster and more reliable than the 89 prelude. don't get me wrong, i had one just like it and i loved it. but modding it is better reserved for someone with specific expertise and skill set.
the "Dual Side Draft" means it has two carburetors that line up with the intake runners on a horizontal plane (generally speaking). that's a very good thing as far as carbs are concerned. not such a good thing though compared to a multi-point fuel injected car when it comes to drivability, tuning, fuel consumption... list goes on.

in that case you may have a fighting chance at doing something with what you have.. if you've got the motivation and funding. read all the FAQs pages you feel apply on here. you'll learn a lot, and get an idea for yourself of what would be involved in building the B20A.
