cruise control malfunction

Default cruise control malfunction

yesterday i was testing out my cruise control on my 98 civic but i guess not using it in a while made it not work anymore. any suggestions on how to fix this?

not using it in a while should not "make it not work"

all I can say is check the fuses

does? the switch light up? is the cruise fuse good? did you test the underhood actuator? did the vacume line fall off the canister or the actuator? id the vacume line pintched? help us help you

yes the switch lighs up. when i tested it on the freeway yesterday, i was hoping it would work but it just starts to slow down since im not gassing it anymore.

If the light is coming on, then its not a fuse or any of the switches. Like AirForceB16 said, probably something with the actuator or its vacuum supply. Check that out first. If nothing, search around on the internet and find a PDF Helm's manual - it has like a flowchart to diagnose the whole system.

go to hondahookup.com and download the manual, at the end it has troubleshooting the acutator.. Its most likey a bad actuator, or cloged vacume source.
