Hey guys I just got my GSR rear disks and it looks like im probley going to need new rotors .. are cross drilled/slotted rotors worth the extra $ ? or are the a mostly cosmetic modifaction ? I understand the concept of More surface area greater heat disapation but does it make a diffrence .. an noticable one ? what about life span do they last as long as regular rotors ? can they be turned ? thanks for the info

Sorry if this doesn't help that much but, I got slotted rotors and I didn't notice a big difference between them and the stock rotors. Technically I don't think you are supposed to turn them but I have heard of people doing it.

most people will tell you to stay away from cross drilled rotors. They are more inclined to break under hard usage, thereofore, mostly for cosmetic enhances. Ask the guys in the road racing forum, they mostly use cheap ol rotors off the shelf. Slotted rotors would be a good idea, but stay away from drilled.

Edit- I would just get OEM rotors to save the money. You probably won't notice a difference anyway.

no
they dont help ****
they actually decrease the life of the rotor and are weaker.

stock honda rotors are ventilated naturally. (look from the top down, youll see the vents)

ask ANY road racer on this msg board, not one will tell you they use slotted/drilled rotors.

brembo blanks are all you need.

Cross Drilled/Slotted rotors= A very shitty and useless way to spend money.

Buy Autozone/Brembo blanks and some Race compound pads/Dot 5 fluid/ss lines

The rear disc brakes are not vented. Just the fronts. You can just get those turned or pick up some power slots. The rear discs are more of for looks anyways. Not a huge braking change.

i bought some brembo xdrilled and slotted because i got them cheap and needed new rotors anyways, i know they don't make a difference but like everyone else said, it's more of a cosmetic thing, i'm sure it makes SOME differance but not enuff to be noticable.
