Cost of labor for swap
Can anyone give me a rough idea of the labor costs for a swap? Area is south-central Texas if that makes a difference.
Just got the news that my poor d16 is shot...
[edit] forgot to mention that i would be going to a b16

Re: Cost of labor for swap (splitime)
I wasn't really ever thinking about doing the swap myself...hmmm
Aside from an engine lift, what other equipment would i need beyond the basic tool set?

Re: Cost of labor for swap (Kikomon)
well...I would say no more than 250 bucks.
Should be NO more than a 5 hours job at 50 bucks an hour sounds good to me.
Shoot, I'd do it for 100 bucks

I myself would charge you 500 dollars for the swap. I think there are to many people that dont really know whats going on with a swap trying to do it thermselfs and then they end up taking it to someone to fix the things that they didnt do. If you dont have alot of experience take it to a shop or someone with experience. I would pay no more than 750. Bring it up to Tennessee and ill do it.

Take the money you would use to pay for labor and buy yourself a set of nice tools and do the install yourself. That way, you are learning a lot and you now have tools you can use over and over.

Re: Cost of labor for swap (spyder)
to be honest, many people here say diy on swap, but anyone realize that if a person have no experience on swap(or mechanic work) and no help from friend(meaning knowledge, not labor), will the guy be able to do the swap? not doubting any of you guys, but does anyone really do the whole swap by themself(meaning no one is telling him what to do)?
