What is the correct tire size for a 92 honda civic hatchback? For 15" rims, is it 205/50/15 or 205/45/15? I want to stay as close to stock tire Outer Diameter to keep my speedo accurate and to provide more room between the tire and fender because I have rubbing problems. I've had to raise my coilvers to provide enough clearance. I don't really want to roll my fenders. My 15" rims are '96 intergra GSR rims, and I've heard with that offset I'll have rubbing on a civic, as the civic wheel wells are not as wide as the integra's. I currently have 16" SSR Competions on the car with 205/45/16 Khumo Ecstas 712 tires, and I have rubbing problems already, even though the guys at tire rack say I have the correct wheel offset for this car. They say I should have gone with a 205/40/16 (205/45/15 has the equivalent Outer Diameter) What do you guys think? Is the 205/40/16 or 205/45/16 closest to stock Outer Diameter? I would like to put race rubber on the SSRs, and Falken Azenis on the GSR rims. However, if I do need 205/45/15 on the GSR rims, then Falken does not make Azenis in that size and I will have to go with a different tire. Any recommendations for race rubber on the SSR competitions? Use will be primarily road racing... Thanks!

205/50/15(technically 195/50/15, but most peeps go 205)
205/45/16

Don't know how you can have rubbing problems with 205 unless you're slammed. I use 205/50/15 with 1.75 inch drop and don't have any rubbing issues.

The "correct" plus sizing for 15" and 16" would be 195/50/15 and 205/40/16, but most people will run 205/50/15 and 205/45/16's instead.

I had a slight rubbing problem with 205/50/15's with my 2" drop so I switched to 195/50/15's and solved the problem.

you CAN over size the width too like stated that most people do... but that's usually when

A. you run into rubbing problems
B. you sacrifice sidewall rigidity for width

there's more lateral "slop" in the tire when it's tread is oversized width ways... nothing too serious but it would be more rigid with the "proper" sized tire on there... (of course this also depends on the width of the aftermarket wheel... if they are 7-8" wide then you NEED the 205 not the 195.. where as if it's 6-7" then you should go with the 195.)

I'm rolling on 205/50/15 azenis. I only rub when i fully turn my wheel. Other then that no problem.

I believe the offset on the '96 GSR rim is 38mm. If I had a rim with 44mm offset like the Kosei K1, I would have no rubbing at all. Almost any 205 series tire should not rub with that offset, but I would still want to stay as close to stock O.D. as possible. On the 16" SSR Competition rims that I'm running now, (I believe the offset is 41mm) with 205/45/16 tires I need about 2 inches of space between my tires and the fenders right now, or else when I corner hard on the track I will rub, or if I have passengers and corner or go over bumps it will rub. So I've had to raise my groundcontrol coilovers higher that where I would really like them. One option is to roll my fenders which I don't really want to do, or buy a chamber kit. I don't believe the stock Civic VX suspension can adjust camber, can it? Maybe just toe? If I do have to get a camber kit, what do you guys recommend? I've seen group buys for Ingals....

I rub when I'm slightly downhill making a full turn. other than that,
