Hey guys,

My cooling fan wouldn't spin and its causing my engine to overheat. I check the fuses under the hood and they are fine.

Can you guys tell me what's wrong?

Fan switch is located on the thermostat housing, it's a brass sensor and has a plug on it. It's usually around $30 or so at Honda and will fix your fan problem as it's common on most Hondas.

14 points to the crush washer, number 11 will include the switch and the washer so that is what you want.

Check you fan first!!!!!, just conect directly to the battery. Then think in the Thermostat, for sure is that.... And if you want some extra protection make a manual switch inside of the car.

you wont need to have it straight to the battery jump the switch.

look for the fan plug that should be by the resevoir.. run a wire from there to ur battery and if the fan turns on then is ok... or u can also remove the fan switch plug and grab a paper clip and jump the plug u know put one side of the clip on both sides of the plus to make full contact....i hope u understand that lol

yeah thats what my link was to but , id recomend jumping it with wires : \ not to the battery either

Okay, i guess I get what jumping means. Does it mean to bypass the fan switch? and just have the fan turn on whenever the car is on?

If that's so, i am still not sure how to do it permantely.

reading that JDMU link right now see if i learn anything.

i dont mean if u understood like u dont know ****...i said that because my pregnant wife is being a pain and i cant think right.... but why do u want the fan on all the time? and if u want the fan all the time u have to run a wire from the fan plug to ur battery

For one, you dont need to hot wire the fan to run constantly.

Two, you do NOT run a wire directly to your battery. That is a good way to burn something up. You need a fuse and a switch to do it properly.

Actually, i never took what u said as offensive, man, LOL. I was just learning this stuff. I, by no means, want my fan on all the time. I said "permanently" only to mean that I can drive it on the street to buy a fan switch or whatever I need and not have it fall off.

u are right, that is why is better to replace the thermo and fan switch...

thanx...is coo, i had cooling problems too and it was the fan swtich...by the way if u replace the fan switch and thermo replace the radiator cap as well...

well i mean if you want a solution until you buy a new swtich id still jump it ..

btw ive been running this method for the last 3k miles.
its worked fine no problems ever, i frequent many bumpy roads never had a problem if your really paranoid i belive you could just cut the plug entirely and just connect the two wires&lt; then soder / tape whatever.. ( somone correct me if im wrong.. )

but like i said im just offering you a temp. easy solution if you wanna go and get a swtich.

I jumped the fan, the fan turns. (but in the opposite direction...?) So i replaced the fan switch with a brand new one. After installing the fan switch, the fan still does not turn and the lower rad hose is cold. Does that mean my thermostat is also pooched?

If the top hose is hot and the temp needle goes up and the bottom hose is still cold then your thermostat is stuck.
