Default coolant inside the car

I recently over-heated my b16a and the heater core starting steaming. Now it leaks inside the car. The drips are coming off the heater core piping right where they connect to the fire wall. Now the car was leaking coolant before it over heated, so I'm not entirely sure if the heater core went or not.

Could the pipes leading to the heater core possibley have cracked? I guess I'm gonna pull the core either way and see. How much of a pain in the *** is it to get the core out?
