converting to power windows question...
i have a 1997 dx hatch with manual windows.. well i got to thinking...how hard it would be to convert them to power windows. so here is what i was thinking i might do to accomplish this.
1. just change door panels in door, using ones from a 96-00 door panel that used power windows
2. or finding complete doors and painting them and bolting them in and wiring them up.
What would be the best way to go about this.....and what would i need to accomplish this (Special Harness, ect.)

It's not hard but tedious.
You do not have to change your doors, Just the internals & panels so paint is not needed.
You'll need floor harness, all the power components, door harnesses and more. Do a search, there are plenty of threads on the subject and even a few How to's.

Re: converting to power windows question...
im doing the autoloc universal power window and door kit. for what it is worth, you dont have to source out your parts, wiring is all their, you can do your locks at the same time and add their keyless entry. in my opinion its a better route to go. i still want ex or si panels with factory switches at some point and it shouldnt be hard to wire in the switches.

For simplicity, here's what you should get:
*Find from a 96-98 Civic EX do not get from 99-00 Civic Ex or Si
Regulators with the motor on them for both doors. (Those metal looking things that pushes the glass up)
Door wire harness for both doors (They have all the sensors needed to plug into your regulator motors as well as the door switches etc..)
Floor wire harness (Make sure its complete with as little wire cut as possible. However, if some sensors are cut, you can take them off your old wire harness and solder them back on)
96-00 Civic Ex, Si, SIR, door panels for power windows and all the switches.
Bonus - You can also try and find Civic Ex tweeters which will plug and play into your door harness, you can also find Ex power side mirrors to match. This will also plug and play with your door harness. And the door lock "blue box". This is needed if you want power locks.
