Concerning Headers and Ground Clearance
The time has come to select a new header.
My current one, a DC JDM 4-1, has some horrible, horrible dents that...well...let's just say I didn't realize how little ground clearance I had until it was way too late
Anyway, there are three exhaust manifolds that I am looking at, and their ground clearance is something I'm definitely taking into consideration. The candidates are:
JDM Honda ITR 4-1
Spoon 4-2-1
T1R 4-2-1 (not the Power Header)
I've heard that the Spoon hangs about an inch lower than the Honda, but I don't know anything about the T1R.
If anyone has any experience or knows anything about the clearance with a T1R (or the others) on a B16 in an EG chassis, please let me know.
Also, any comments or anecdotes about the headers above would be greatly appreciated. My long-term plans include Skunk Stage 1 or Toda Spec A cams, headwork (I'm dreaming of an IB Spec head), Hondata S100, and a lot of tuning (stock compression though).
