Default Coilover Problems

I was under my car the other day trying to install a short shifter(damn carriage bolts), when i noticed that the stock springs were freaking huge!!! My coilovers are about 2-3 inches smaller than stock springs. Is that supposed to be like that? And when it gets warm here in Illinois ,i want to lower my car. What do i need to put coils on the stock struts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Justin

Do You have Lowrings Springs or thread sleves? Lowering springs are going to be shorter that your stock springs. If you have Thread Sleve's (aka "coilovers) ususally thise springs are very short because they are constant rate springs and usually a higher spring rate than "lowerings springs".

Yep dude they should be alot smaller my ground controls were hella smaller than my stockers. What kind of coilovers did you get. and yes they just sit on your stock struts.
