Code 4,8,9 and 16 car in limp mode Please help
Hello,
I have a 95 del sol VTEC (d16z6). As far as I know it is all stock except for the suspension. The other day my CEL went on and it wouldn't go above 3500 RPM. I checked the CEL codes and got 4, 8,9 and 16. I checked the ohms on the CKP (4), TDC (8) and CYP (9) and they were all around 400 (give or take). Also none had continuity. For code 16, fuel injectors, I listented to each and I could hear clicking in all of them. I also disconnected each one, 1 at a time, and the idle went down after each one was disconnected and went back to normal when re-connected.
Has anyone had a similar situation? I think the code 16 is getting tripped from the other codes but I don't want to just throw a new dizzy at it since 4, 8, and 9 seemed to be where they should? Comments? Advice? please help!!

Since no one was nice enough to respond at all I thought I would share the fix for someone else that might stumble upon this thread. It was the distributor. I replaced it and reset the CEL codes and it runs great.

i would of responded asap to you if i saw this thread, i had the same problem, i put a z6 in my 96 civic and my car was in limp mode and had that ckp check engine light code, so i just bought a z6 dizzy and a distrubutor conversion harness and it worked great.

As a bad distributor would not throw code 16, it seems unlikely that all those codes would have repeated had you reset the ECU. Always do the latter to see which codes repeat.
