Default obd1 z6 in an obd2a 96 civic, what to expect?

So i may be getting my hands on a civic for relatively cheap, only problem is it has a blown y8. spun rod bearing which lead to rod through the block, go figure right.

i haven't had much luck finding decent y8's in the price range i'm trying to spend, however i have my eye on a z6 and i'd like to verify if what i understand that needs to happen is correct.

once i get the z6 i need to:

-repin the z6 dizzy plugs to accept the obd2 style connectors, or find a way to reasonably mount the y8 dizzy to the z6 head. which i know isn't a pretty thing if i recall

-move over the y8 intake manifold to the z6.

-do the ckf bypass since the sensor is not present on the z6
http://www.ff-squad.com/technet/ckftrick.htm

-retain stock exhaust which i believe has a pre-cat and post-cat o2 sensor.

-i'm not sure if i need to switch driverside post mount engine brackets around, but no biggy if i do i suppose.

off the top of my head thats all i can think of. am i missing something lol?

nobody can verify huh? like no one's ever replaced a y8 with a z6 before...

i'm pretty sure i've got everything, but i guess i'll figure it out as i go along if thats what it comes to.

If you use a P2P ECU the timing will be off, it'll run, but it wont be perfect. The best way to do it is to use a conversion harness and an OBD1 P28. Or build a Y8 with a Z6 crank so it wont spin rod bearings.

yea i know that'd be the best way to go, however i'm just trying to get it running as cheaply as possible right now. i'll probably end up swapping my ls into it anyway once i get a gsr for the hatch. thanks for the heads up on the variances between the ecu's and the timing issue.

about building a y8 with a z6 crank, aren't the spun rod bearings are a result of oiling issues from the y8 block itself? i don't see how using a z6 crank in a y8 block would change anything.

The problem with Y8s spinning rod bearings comes from them only having 1 oiling hole per journal as opposed to the Z6s having 2 per journal.
