clutch starter switch??
I'm not even sure what this thing is called??? but I was leaving work last night, and I got in my 92 hatch and I tryed start my car, and it wouldn't turn over. I knew it couldn't be my battery or anything, and then I felt something under my foot... it was a piece of rubber it had fallen from the clutch I guess. does anyone know anything about how to fix this?? the same thing happened to my brake light switch about a month ago... and I just taped a dime to the pedal to push the button in to turn my brake lights off when the pedal is depressed. it works fine, but I looked for the same thing on the clutch pedal and I couldn't see anything... one of my friends said I could just ground the wire that goes to the switch and it would work. I just don't know where it is...

Re: clutch starter switch??
yeah true... but I just don't know where it's at. lol I don't think it's the switch itself though, cuz when it happened to the brake pedal the switch was fine. it just needed something to push it down. I guess it's the same thing just on the clutch pedal... Thanks!

Re: clutch starter switch??
ok well I figured it out now that it's daylight and I can see better. I just unplugged the plug in the switch, it's way up in the dash, but I just unplugged it and jumped it and now I don't have to push the pedal down to start it... lucky for me I have to keep it in neutral anyways bcuz of my turbo timer. so if anyone else wants to do this be careful it's not in gear when you start it
