so i have a 1995 civic ex coupe (ej1) stock.... and my clutch is slipping for a while so im gonna change it ... i dont know if to get a stock clutch or a sports clutch .. i want something that will last me a while cux im not gonna be racing .. but thats affordable.. any recomendations pls feed back anything would be of great help ...

if you're not going to be racing or anything just go with a stock clutch, no point in spending the extra money on a clutch that you dont need. stock clutch should last a good long while so long as you dont beat on it

I'm using an exedy OEM replacement clutch and love it. I do regret not re-surfacing my flywheel though. MAKE SURE YOU RESURFACE THE FLYWHEEL!

Don't use stage anything unless you're racing. Those higher stage clutches grab really hard and can be annoying to some people for daily driving. My friend's stage 2 was almost impossible to feather. It was almost either no grab or grab.

for every day basic driving and use I would say OEM or OEM spec clutch - I have used countless different brands including a dynamax OEM spec w/ lifetime warranty on my z6
I like exedy but didn't want to wait and didn't need something to handle too much power - and cost difference for exedy oem kit and this kit (with better warranty) was negligible to have now instead of later this week.

if you don't want OEM I would go with a stage 1 - similar feel and will hold a little better

yea you can just use an OEM clutch. it will do for normal driving. if you want to somthing that can take more of a beating you can go for a stage 2 clutch exedy and ACT are good brands

My exedy was 80 bucks shipped on ebay which included the whole kit. It wasn't a stage anything, it was an OEM spec organic disk.

Point is, like everyone says, stay OEM spec anything unless you're racing.

I also like exedy. If you really never ever plan on making your car faster than just get the oem replacement, but if you are going to be making more power at some point just get a stage 1. Stage 1's aren't that harsh and my exedy stage 1 didn't slip with 220 whp on my turbo d15b.

I've driven a couple of civics with stage 3 clutches, one was a '92 Si with a B18C1, aluminum flywheel+ACT 6 puck stage 3 clutch, theres no feathering that thing at all, it doesn't help that the throttle plate likes to stick at idle either. another friend of mine had a '95 CX with a DOHC ZC with an aluminum flywheel+ACT 6 puck stage 3 clutch, that didn't seem to be nearly as bad, definately grabby, but i didn't find it that bad to drive. I have heard though stage 3 clutches have a tendency to grenade differentials though...

using an exedy OEM replacement clutch can you still have fun? or if you f*around too much your screwed. im not saying burnout everytime just every once in awhile jump on it.

What's that mean?

A 4-puck disc will grab so badly that it will be undriveable on the street!

A full-sized street disc is what you want!

Another thing - make sure you get a sprung hub, not a solid one!
