clutch pedal travels to the floor with no resistance?
The other day i was driving around like normal.. Pushing hard on the clutch due to the heavy duty pressure plate. I noticed a noise kinda like something was scraping a little, but the car drove fine while that was going on. I got home and parked the car to further inspect the problem.
When i got home, i pushed the clutch pedal a few time... and then the pedal travels to the floor with no pressure at all and i hear some kinda "thunk" noise, but i wasnt sure exactly where it came from. First thing i do is reach under the dash and check the pedal itself and where it connects to the cable.
The cable is pretty much brand new and the pedal assembly has been changed for a newer set as well. The clutch cable IS NOT broken. I can pull up on the clutch release lever by hand, and there is no resistance. help me out please.. whats the problem?

start by moving the clutch lever by hand. if it moves freely, next is removing the tranny.

not to hijack your thread, but i have a simliar clutch problem.
my clutch grabs great i can still bark 3rd easily, but my clutch pedal itself is not engagin the clutch in the same spot as it used to be. over the oast week the pedal is engaging at the top, abot a weeke ago i noticed it and thought maybe i was being paranoid, but now instead of grabing at the bottom it grabs at the very top when the pedal is almost completely up. i dont thin my clutch is going bad it still catches, but i have a feeling that the pedal problem is something else. any ideas?

you should also check the clutch fluid.

Yes, check the fluid level in your clutch master cylinder first before you do anything else. I had the same problem, came out from work to get in my car, pushed the clutch down, heard a thunk and voila no more pedal travel. Limped home and filled up with some brake fluid and all was good.
