Clutch and flywheel opinions
Sadly... my OEM Honda clutch has given out after about 90,000 miles. So I'm a little confused about which clutch/flywheel combo to get. I drive my car daily, and race about every other weekend. I have a 00 ex coupe with the edelbrock kit, and I'm surprised that the clutch even lasted that long. I think it was the preloading and the drag radials that did it. Anyways, any advice or opinions on what decisions I should make is greatly appreciated. Yeah, BTW I still have the sohc motor if it makes any difference. Thanks

as for the clutch it depends on how much power you making
keep your stock flywheel in for better top end

Re: Clutch and flywheel opinions (komat)
Thanks Komat. I'm only making about 190 whp. So you're saying I should leave the oem flywheel in? What "stage" clutch should I put in. I want one that has holding power but isn't a harsh daily driver. I tend to catch every single red light possible. lol. I'm leaning towards a "stage" 2 or 3, but not sure which brand to go with.

I have an ACT HDSS clutch and pressure plate, should be more then enough for you as well. Its the stiffest one you can get and still be considered "Street legal" if I have the model wrong, its one of the best investments I made on the car.

Re: Clutch and flywheel opinions (nocturnaldragon)
i love my exedy orgnic clutch and fidanza 8lb flywheel alot. but some people think that lightened flywheels arent any good but i beg to differ. if you ask anyone who has had an aftermarket flywheel they will say they loved it. i had yet to hear someone complain about one!!! but its really up to you to decide which one you want. all i can say is do alot research before you buy anything because it is better to pay alittle more now than twice as much later!!!

I love my 8lb flywheel. Noticeable difference in acceleration, like big time. And i dont think im losing too much torque. Have to drive up a nasty hill for school, has no trouble getting up there.

Re: Clutch and flywheel opinions (wwang924)
Thanks, guys. I've pretty much dediced on the Exedy organic, but I'm not sure about the flywheel. I guess I've just got to weigh out the differences. Anymore input would be helpful. B.T.W. if anybody has had experience with a boosted sohc and that exedy organic, some input would be appreciated. Just wondering how long the clutch would last with all of the preloading and abuse it takes when powershifting.
