cleaning intake manifold white powder want to paint??
Im in the process of preping my z6 intake manifold but theres this white powder dust that appears. I re wash it with with water and somehow white dust appears on the surface of the intake manifold when it dry off wtf? i washed it like almost ten times now and dried it.
I want to paint it but not sure if this white powder on the manifold will cause it problem..

Thats how aluminium rusts.
A brass wire brush and some self etching primer for high temp applications should work. Mask the gasket surfaces.

Just get as much off as possible with a brush. The acid in the self etching primer will eat through and chemically alter the oxidation.
To be sure try a little on the bottom and see how it finishes.
