Clanking noise....
Hey everyone,
My buddies civic starts up A okay however, when it is running there is this clanking sound that the engine makes...it almost sounds like something is rattling inside the block...anybody know what the problem might be?

a clanking noise, thtas a tough one. are you sure it is comeing from the motor and not some place else? noises like to travel.
Is it a 96-00 civic? cause it might be a "A-pipe" heat sheild makeing that noise.

one way to tell if it coming from inside the engine is to get a screw driver and put the handle on you ear and the other end someplace on the motor where the noise seems to be coming from.....
