Default Civic Wheel Bearings

I have a 98 DX coupe Civic and my wheel bearings are noisy as hell.

Anyone have any idea what aftermarket parts are on the market for wheel bearings? All I was able to find was a NTN brand bearing. Is it best to purchase authentic Honda parts?

I'm running with a 17" rim and a 1.75" spring drop. New camber and shocks have also been installed. With that said, is it more likely that my new bearings will wear faster because of more stress put on them by the larger rim?

Stick with OEM wheel bearings.. The wheel bearings are not specificaly designed to be used with bigger wheels and a drop. The drop most likely puts more stress on the bearing and axles due to the angel change that it causes, but it shouldnt wear out anytime soon if you replace the bearing. Should go for a good 100k miles or more.

BUY OEM Bearings..... Nothing is equal... wheel and tire size will have little if any effect on the life expectancy.

Honda OEM for wheel bearings is in most cases KOYO...

Honda also uses NTN bearings for i.e. tranny differential...

So I guess you can't miss if you buy NTN bearings cos they are also qualified enough to be "Honda OEM"...

But if you want to pay extra dlrs go ahead...

I agree I got NTN bearings $30 each instead of over $50 each for OEM...& yes honda does use NTN parts

some other areas you may want to stick with OEM for fitment & quality IMO
