Civic VTi eg6 misfiring/hesitating after c14 capacitor burnt
Hi guys! I've got a 93 edm eg6. B16A2 Engine. One month ago i was driving normally as soon as my engine turned off, CEL light went. I immediatly stopped the car and turned the key off. Meanwhile i smelled fish and some smoke come out from the ecu zone. Result: My C14 capacitor in the ecu burned down. Fortunately i had another ecu. A chipped P28 USDM Where i put a stock B16 edm map. Since that, my car misfires/hesitates for a moment, especially at full throttle and high rpm.
So i switched this udsm ecu to the original map(d16z6) and does the same. I bought a p30 and tried that. Same issue. Last try i did was ispecting distributor: rotor and cap. Rotor was a bit smoked ont the topend and gave the cap some sandpaper. Installed all back and now the problem got a little worse. What could be happened? Shortcut in c14 may have ruined somthing?

CEL light went on when engine stopped itself and ecu started smoking. After changing ecu (because the one with c14 capacitor burnt, has a hole in the board and some electric tracks are gone) no CEL coeds or errors.
I putted distributor at 16° in november 2014.

Distributor bounght new in gennuary 2013 (8000 miles). It arrived with broken cap so i putted the old one. Rotor was with the distributor. Wires are oem, spark plugs have 3000 miles (changed in september 2015).

Here i'm. I put new rotor, distributor cap and blue ngk wires. I went for a ride and car got worse. Misfiring/hesitating was more till CEL light come on. I was afarid it was ECU again. But this time no smoking and engine still running. I suddenly stopped the car and checked error codes. Error 9 and error 20.
Now i left my car where i was and got home by my brother. Any ideas?

Bad coil would not throw code 9, so there may have been more than one distributor problem.
Still have code 20?

I did ecu reset procedure. Since i changed distributor, car goes smooth and no error codes. Only thing i can add is that the ditributor was a commercial one and had only 8000Miles

Little issue. Today i did timing to 16°. Noticed with jumper on diagnosis connector that CEL blinked error 20. So i did the reset procedure but as soon as i turn to AAC, CEL blinks error 20. Electric Load Detector. I've got a EDM eg6 and they don't have ELD. But p28 ECU is USDM, chipped with crome base map for EDM b16. What's wrong? Does my ECU go in recovery?

Anyway thanks a lot RonJ for your help.
Now i'm running with error 20 in memory but car goes fine. Thing unusual is that no engine light comes on, only if check errors blinks code 20.
I think I'll write another chip or try with EDM P30 to see what's gonna change.
