Civic Type R LHD and RHD?
Did the 1996-2000 Civic Type R ever come in a LHD in other markets?
I only ask this question because of CTR carpets I'm in the market for. Need to clairfy if they're real or not.

Re: Civic Type R LHD and RHD?
civic type r in an EK chassis was only offered in 98... then in 99 and 2000 a.k.a. the facelift model. they were offered in european and japanease markets only. all right hand drive. any left hand drive ctr part is fake.

The Civic Type-R EK9 was available throughout the 6th gen Civic's run, for us in the US we would consider it 96-00. But in Japan, the years of the cars are a little different. For example the CTR could have been released in August of 95, it would be 95.8 MY. The EK9 was only available in Japan (all RHD). All others you see overseas are gray market imports.

You're very likely looking at AutoCustomCarpets/ACCMats carpet if you see left-hand-drive "Type R" style/color carpet. It's like $120-$150 shipped brand new, so keep that in mind if you buy it anyway.

By this I mean they were only available for sale originally in Japan.
The years they were sold was 1997-2000. Japan calls cars by their production date, not their "release date" like we do in the United States.
For example, here in the US you can have a 1999 Civic Si (EM1) that was assembled in October 1998. In some countries this could be called a 1998 Civic Si (EM1).
All '97-'00 Civic Type Rs sold in Europe were shipped over after the original sale. As BlueIntegraBoy mentioned, they are considered gray market vehicles.
The 6th generation Civic Type R was released August 22, 1997.

I have heard of RHD carpets fitting LHD vehicles, but there will be a few odd places that you need to cut or might need to cover up.
