Default civic suspension HELP KYB struts & ground control coilovers

hey i was wondering why my car bounces a lot when i hit a bump at the same time. but when its just one side its cool. its lowered about finger width. so you can only fit a finger between the tires and fender. i am pretty sure i install it right because i've done it a couple of times before and they were cool. so if anyone can help me it'll cool. thanks

I'm having the same problems with my AGX's and GC's. Mine is lowered with the fenders right at the tires, and my car is bumpy and bouncy as f*ck. I think it's just that the AGX's can't handle the GC's very well. Even when I had it lowered an inch and a half or so, it was still rough, no matter what the shocks are set on. I think I'm going to upgrade to some Koni Yellow's and see how that works out for me.

I roll on skunk2s with AGXs and my friend is on GC with AGXs. Both of us on integra spring rates. Doesn't seem really bouncy to me. But then again I never expected a luxury ride with those spring rates.

Why dont you just adjust the dampers to a stiffer setting?

When you say bouncy, do you mean a tight bounce or a bounce like an 88 LTD with blown shocks hitting a dip in the freeway at 80mph and still floating and bouncing around 5 miles down the road?

I have played with many different settings and am on full stiff right now. It's a tight bounce, if any. It's just stiff as f*ck and I feel every bump in the road. And if I hit a big bump, it sounds like my dash is gonna fall apart. lol! but my buddy had yellow's on his car and it was low like mine and it rode a helluva lot better than mine does. That's why I think it's just the AGX's.

Do the GCs work with the Konis?

I don't think it is the AGX's. I have AGX's with ground controls and have tried just about every spring rate. I am currently on 400 lb/in front and rear and the ride is stiff but not bad. It might be that your car is lowered too much and you are bottoming out the shock on the bump stop. I installed the kyb dust boot/bump stop and I don't think I ever hit the bump stop except under hard cornering at autocross. keep in mind that the kyb bumpstop that is integrated into the dust boot is a lot taller than the stock bump stop after cutting it in half. I have about 2 fingers clearance between the fenders front and rear. tires are 205/50r15.

Well even when my car wasn't that low, it still rode like ***, IMO. I think I am gonna raise it back up some until I can get the Koni's. I just know that in my friends EF he had Koni's with some other cheaper coilover sleeve and his car was pretty low and it rode very nice. Much nicer than mine does. And yes the GC's do work with the Koni's, but you have to get the sleeve that is made for the Koni's. I think they also have an adapter if you have the regular sleeves already, but I'm not sure on that.

The guy I bout My Car from said I had 4-way ajustable in the front n 12-way in the back. I did some research and I haven't been able to come up with anything, so I have come to a conclusion that they arent real. I have GC's and I know there KYB's, but I would just like to know what kind so I can tune it, so My ride isn't so bouncy. I could definately use some input, THANKS - JON
