Civic Strong Bars
What do you guys think of these CNC machined aluminum strong bars? They bolt into existing spots with no modifications needed. Would you guys buy them? Here are pics of the prototype in Anthony's car.

nice.... how much would it cost? i did the home depot one.... didnt notice too much of a difference.... but im sure that ones a lot better.

Before any Honda-Tech members go wasting their money on useless bars bolted into their car, what advantage does this bar give?
The first application that I've seen of a "strong bar" on a Honda was on the Benen hatches.
They made the bar to compensate for the lack of a rear bumper support.
I personally would never remove the bumper supports out of a car I had any intention of keeping.
Removing a bumper support out of a street car increases the likelihood that your car may be a total loss in the event of an accident (where a car with a bumper support would be salvagable).
Now if you still have your bumper supports and you have a strong bar, then you're fooling yourself into thinking it does anything.
If you're familiar with the rear bumper support on Civics, you know that it sits in the frame rails and ties them together.

The first application that I've seen of a "strong bar" is on a factory Honda Integra Type-R. Not sure what it does though... I didn't even know that area of the car can flex?
A "strong bar" mounts to the frame rails.

if it's 60-70 bucks, it better be twice or more as efficent as the DIY trunk bar.
It's purely for decorative purposes.

not worht the loot or PITA of adding to trunk clutter.
now,
if you removed the bumber supports in a RACECAR then it might be a worthy product for you,
but unless you fit that profile,
this will effect nothing but add more weight in the back of the car and make your wallet lighter
