Default Is the civic si engine harness the same of the integra type r engine harness

i'm doing an upgrade on my 1999 civic si(b16a engine)(obd2 harness). i'm putting a 2001 type r (b18c5) (obd2 engine). however i don't wanna go thru and take the engine harness out of my civic si, so i was wondering if the civic si engine harness is the same as the integra type r engine harness. if it is the same i don't have to change them and lose time on that. can anybody help me here pls.

The harnesses are completely different that will not work.

really? because the wires all the same for the most part, I believe he may have add a few at most. Otherwise the only difference is the connectors. If he repins integra engine harness connectors to match the civic's, it would work just fine.

They both have vtec so its all good. Only thing you have to worry about is what ECU your going to use. You are prolly gonna use a OBDI ECU so you'll just need the correct harness from the ECU to the engine harnness - OBDIIa or OBDIIb. All the other wires that go to the engine and sensors should already be there and a few you won't even use.

I noticed several people saying it will not work and that they are completely different. However others, including myself, thought that the harness would work. So which is it? I would like to know.

It will not work the integra harness is two pieces, the SI harness is one piece. USE the SI harness, integra harnesses only work in eg civics which use 2 piece harnesses as well.

are you agreeing with me, he needs to use the SI engine harness if the R motor is going in a 99 civic SI, the integra harness wont work.

So the answer is that the SI harness will work with the obd2 typer motor and the ITR harness will not work? I am pretty sure the ITR harness will work with EG civics, but I guess not with EK civics. Is this correct?

Yes thats correct, the EK civics do not have the plugs on the shock tower like the eg civics and dc integras, instead the harness is one piece and passes through the firewall directly to the ecu.
