Default Civic Si 2000 Not Aligning right

So during the winter a year ago I slide sideways into a curb in the snow and i thought my wheel hub might of been damaged so i replaced it and got it aligned with no problems. I got another alignment this past fall and they said my back driver side could not be aligned and that he had to adjust the toe all the way out. I Thought that maybe the trailing arm or control arm could be bent but I just took everything apart back there and everything is looking great not damage what so ever and nothing is bent. I noticed though that i rotated my tires after the alignment was done and all of a sudden the car shakes when driving. also the tires wore down really fast. So I assume that maybe its the rims so I rotate them again and all of a sudden it doesnt shake anymore. I concluded that this could possibly mean that one of the rims ( the one that hit the curb) might be bent in someway and causing the shop to not be able to align it correctly? PLEASE help This is costing me alot of money on tires and things

I would say your trailing arm is bad.

But i Just looked at the trailing arm. Like I actually took it off the vehicle and made sure it wasn't bent at all. There not seem to be anything wrong with it and i compared it with the passenger side and its looked straight.

Just because you looked and passed the visual test doesnt mean it is straight. I had the same problem once on my ride. a slight degree will cause havok on your ride. gl

ok thanks. and also just one more question. could it be just the trailing arm bushing or the whole trailing arm? I know its probably hard to tell without you looking

I have a bad lower arm on my EG, buy looking at it, you can NOT tell its bent. On the alignment rack, the Caster is wayyyy off. Took it off and set it on top of a good one, and You can deff tell its bent.

One possibility is the bushing is to far (or not far enough) into the trailing arm.

IIRC the trailing arm bushing outer ring should be protrude 10 to 12 mm from the surface for the trialing arm on the outer side.

I would personally change the whole thing. It is a lot easier to just pull a whole assembly from a nice junk yard car. IMO

x2 replace the whole thing it will be easier and less painless for you. just in case that is not the sole problem to you alignment woes. i align cars every day and i will tell you just by looking at a part you wont be able to tell a even if its a 1/8 of a inch you will be able to tell by the way the car drives and the wear pattern. the shakeing after rotate could be a bent rim but could also be where the alignment was off in the rear and caused a uneven wear pattern i would get your tires balanced and let them know that you suspect a bent rim
