civic DX worth modding
whats up,
im thinking about gettting a 93 civic hatchback DX. ive search 10000 times about mini-mes and z6's and all that but never really had clear answers to my questions..
first off is it even worth getting a DX.. the guy wants to trade me one.
now if i get it..
whats the best mod? mini me?
what would the redline be? can the dx tranny handle the power?
just let me know anything you can think of about the DX engine. should i even get the 93 dx 5spd or keep my 94 prelude automatic thats broken down with a head gasket problem.

alright here we go. 6800 redline. long drawn out gears. i guess mini me would be a good start altough i dunno whot you need because im swapping my dx engine for a b16a. other than that you could get i/h/e from me

I have a 95 DX. And, I'd say the best mod I've done is the GSR swap. Just do a b-series swap. You will be more satisfied in the long run. I was also thinking about doing a mini-me before I came upon this guy selling his GSR.

just depends on your plans and how much you want to sink into it. Also being in PA you might want to check the condition of rust on the car. I also see the hatch having more potential then the prelude if you dump the cash into it.

This sounds like a very good idea to me. The DX chassi is very light compared to the Si, it may not have all the options, but some like it that way. If you were to get a b18c (GS-R or Type R swap) this car could definitely be putting down some decent power.

Who needs power locks or power windows with blown motors and you cant roll them down? Definitely worth modding a dx. Like said, save for a b-swap. B-swaps in eg hatchs usually are pretty quick. I'd like to do a vx hatch with a b20/vtec. If the guy is wanting to trade straight across for your lude, I'd be sure to jump on that **** real quick. Just my personal opinion.

Exactly, it sounds like your Prelude is already at a loss with the automatic tranny and the headgasket. However, if you decide to keep your Prelude.. The headgasket is a fairly straight foward process if you know what you're doing, and a tranny swap isn't much different either.

1500 hundred....Good deal...i remember i wanted 2,200 shipped for my B16a2...which was very low milage...and had ITR goods on the head and what not...
My opinion which means nothing to anyone....i'd get the hatch...i'm not a EG hatch fan...b/c there ugly...it's just i would rather drive around a 5 speed then an auto...both cars seem like projects.
