Default Is a civic with a crv engine worth it?

Want to trade my vw rabbit 2007 for a modify able car. the civic is worth 7000. I think its a 99 hatch. Where can I buy a bolt on turbo for that car which has a crv engine, can I get a 99 civic turbo for it?

i whould dude civic's are really mod friendly and espically since you dont live in cali i whould go b20, thats the crv motor dude but i would put a vtec head on it and build the bottem end due to the thin wall of the sleeves becas the b20 has the same bore and a b18 motor same stroke diffrent displacement something to think about but i whould do it great torque factor great launch with a lsd tranny :D something to think about sorry for the speeling btw

what kind of civic and mods are on this civic for $7000... a 99hatch with a b20 doesnt make the car worth $7000. you could pick one for a few bucks more with a k swap

yea a 99 Civic with a B20 swap for $7000? B20's are $700. You could buy 99 Civic for like $3k then + $1000 (for good measure), and you have B20 99 Civic.

That is my biggest thing with that civic too man, it better b JDM tricked out for $7k! If it's not in prime condition with some sik JDM goodies it's hard to beleive it could b worth more than $3k.

Don't forget all the other crap that goes with this swap. Tranny, Axles, Ecu, shift linkage, mounts.. just a bit more than 1000 unless you got a fat hookup. However, 7000?!?!? Whats the deal? For 7000 it should already be turbo'd or at least have a super awesome built N/A motor with perfect everything else.

And passes VA inspections.

I was in VA at a shop on Fort Eustis, a guy had to replace his tierod cause the boot was torn a tad, and wouldn't pass inspection. Make sure it passes all that good stuff.

daaaaaaamn. yeah, what everyone else said. $7K is highway robbery unless it's rust free and a ton of rare parts on it.

Check out hondamarketplace.com to get a good idea of what decent swapped cars tend to go far. It's usually not a ton more than completely stock car unless it's something really special.

Dude more like $4500 in super clean condition

You can get a 99 teggy which has the a debored b20(better for boost/ more hp from factory with 5 less ft/trq) b18 stock for under 5 grand and it has everything upgraded from a civic

i wouldnt let a shop work oin my car if it takes them 16hrs to swap an engine...

avg shop charges flat fee of $500 for a d/b series swap.

it takes about 2-3hrs to do an engine sharp at a slow steady paste

2-3 hours to swap a motor at a slow steady pace? It takes 2 hours at least to put the motor in the car and get everything connected. So idk how you do a whole swap in 3 hours.

Buy a stock civic. One in good condition. Drive it for a bit until you start to learn a little more about the honda scene. Trust me if you stay on this site, research, and ask alot of questions, then you will ultimately know what to do when the time comes where you can decide what motor you really want. Who knows, maybe you'll attempt to do a motor swap yourself. Just my opinion.

I know that. Just stating what it costs locally. It's BS.
